About the job Data Integrity Specialist
The Data Integrity Specialist is responsible for maintaining high standards of data accuracy and consistency within the billing environment.
This role ensures that QA services, bookings and operational records align with the billing system, reducing errors and supporting reliable revenue processes. Over time, the role will expand into broader data governance responsibilities.
The purpose of this role is to improve data accuracy, reduce billing exceptions and credits, and establish stronger controls around service setup, pricing, bookings, and operational data.
The role will initially work closely with the Billing & Data Control team to develop a deep understanding of our systems, service lines, and billing processes, before evolving into a broader Data Governance function across the business.
This is a strategic role focused on shifting the business from reactive issue resolution to proactive data quality management and governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular QA and reconciliation of bookings, services and operational data against the billing system.
- Identify, investigate and resolve data discrepancies and root causes.
- Develop and maintain data quality checks, exception reporting and dashboards.
- Support the Billing team during end-of-month processes, credit reviews and invoice validation.
- Collaborate with Operations, Customer Service, Pricing, Data Control and offshore teams to improve data capture at the source.
- Review service line configurations, charging structures and customer master data to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Document data standards, controls and workflows to support the transition into a formal Data Governance framework.
- Contribute to data governance initiatives, including policy development, mastering data standards and compliance activities.
- Identify recurring trends that drive credits, rebilling and customer disputes and recommend corrective actions.
Experience & Skills
Technical Skills
- Advanced Excel skills (Power Query, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data reconciliation).
- Experience with exception reporting and data validation processes.
- Ability to analyze large data sets and identify trends, anomalies and root causes.
- Experience with ERP, billing, CRM or operational management systems.
- Understanding of data quality frameworks and governance principles.
- Experience developing dashboards and reporting tools (Power BI desirable)
Skills & Competencies
- Tertiary Qualification in Data Analytics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills Experience liaising with a multitude of stakeholders.
- Well-organized with excellent attention to detail and time management skills
- Basic financial knowledge
- Experience using Wastedge is desired but not essential
