The Payroll Accountant position supports all aspects of the organization’s payroll accounting. The person in this position may also work with the VP of Shared Services, Treasury, Tax, Legal, Risk Management, and Human Resources.

Job Responsibilities:

• Promote, demonstrate and instill Brock’s Bsafe and Bbest culture in all aspects of the business

• Perform a variety of accounting, auditing, analyzing and reporting functions related to the payroll functions

Shared Services – Payroll Accountant Responsibilities

• Assist in the review and maintenance of the payroll processes and procedures including performing audits and detecting issues

• Prepare reports and custom reconciliations for senior management

• Compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial data

• Reconcile multiple accounts in the payroll system to ensure accuracy

• Prepare certain journal entries related to payroll

• Prepare and analyze various payroll data, assist in the analysis of earnings and deductions

• Assist with controls, reporting and auditing of various payroll items

• Assist Payroll Leaders in various special projects and ad hoc requests

• Assist Payroll Leaders in preparing various schedule and compiling of documents for quarterly reviews and year-end external audits

• Must demonstrate excellent customer service responsiveness

• Ability to resolve issues while maintaining good relationships

• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate with all levels of personnel in large organization distributed throughout the company

• Adaptable to changes in a fast-paced environment

• High attention to detail and ability to proof schedules and documents

• Demonstrates conflict resolution and critical thinking skills

• Must have excellent organizational skills

• Must be deadline oriented and ability to handle multiple, competing priorities on individual and team assignments

• Must be able to demonstrate leadership in teamwork and complex assignments

• Must be self-motivated with the ability to work individually

• Must have Intermediate to advance skill level in Excel

• Must have the ability to develop and maintain custom reporting

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Accounting or Finance required

• Work experience as an accountant or in a related field.

• Ability to work with stakeholders to assess potential risks

• High-level written and verbal communication skills.
