JOB DESCRIPTION
AU Architect
The Role This is a full-time, office-based position. You will work closely with the builder,
project manager, and site managers to design, plan, and oversee architectural aspects of
construction projects. You’ll ensure all designs comply with NSW legislation and industry
standards while delivering innovative and practical solutions.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver architectural designs for residential and commercial projects in NSW.
Prepare detailed architectural drawings, plans, schedules, and documentation in
accordance with the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and relevant Australian
Standards.
Apply knowledge of NSW planning requirements, including relevant Development
Control Plans (DCPs) and State Environmental Planning Policies (SEPPs), to project
documentation.
Incorporate sustainability requirements such as BASIX and consider NABERS and Green Star
principles where applicable.
Assist with the preparation and coordination of documentation required for council
approvals, certification, permits, and consultant submissions.
Collaborate closely with the builder, project manager, site managers, and onshore
consultants to ensure design intent is effectively translated into construction.
Provide technical input on materials, finishes, constructability, and sustainable design
solutions.
Coordinate design revisions, variations, and documentation updates throughout the project
lifecycle.
Conduct design and documentation quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and
compliance with project requirements.
Work closely with Australian-based project stakeholders to resolve design issues and provide
timely technical support.
Qualifications and Experience:
Formal qualifications such as:
Bachelor or Master of Architecture (registered with the NSW Architects Registration
Board) OR a Diploma of Building Design (Architectural)
OR a Certificate IV in Residential Drafting or similar nationally recognised qualification
Minimum 5 years’in architectural design within the NSW construction industry or a
closely related industry, with demonstrated experience applying relevant Complying
Development Codes and regulations
Strong knowledge of NSW building codes, planning regulations, and compliance
requirements
Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, SketchUp, or similar)
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
A passion for innovative and sustainable design

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate
