Systems Administrator – Contract (Raleigh, NC)

Keep the servers and systems behind North Carolina's public services running smoothly and securely.

Mfinite Consulting is building a pool of systems administrators for contract assignments with North Carolina state and public-sector agencies in the Raleigh area. Assignments typically run 6–12 months; agencies set the schedule (onsite or hybrid).

Pay & Schedule

• $35 – $42 per hour, based on experience and skill level
• Full-time, about 40 hours per week; some after-hours maintenance windows
• Contract assignment; W-2 hourly employee of Mfinite Consulting LLC
• Direct deposit

What You'll Do

• Operate, monitor and troubleshoot Windows and/or Linux server environments
• Manage server backups, patching, security hardening and user accounts
• Tune performance and support capacity planning
• Review system logs to spot and fix problems before they reach users
• Migrate and integrate new technologies into existing environments
• Document configurations and procedures

What You Need

• 1–3+ years of systems administration experience (Mid-Level 3–5 years, Senior 5–7, Expert 7+)
• Hands-on Windows Server and Active Directory/Group Policy and/or Red Hat or other Linux
• Experience with VMware or Hyper-V, backup tools and PowerShell or Bash scripting
• Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship; able to pass a background check

Great Fit If You Have

• Microsoft Azure or AWS administration; Microsoft 365/Intune administration
• CompTIA Security+, Server+, RHCSA or Microsoft certifications
• Government IT experience
