Our Client is a leading independent reinsurance group, provide a wide range of niche and specialty reinsurance products to property and casualty insurers, now seeking to hire an "Accountant" at their office in Beirut.

Role Summary:
The Financial Accountant is responsible for managing various accounting functions, including maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with financial reporting and analysis, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and preparing budgets. The role also involves overseeing bank reconciliations, cash flow management, and fixed asset control while providing financial insights to support decision-making.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including monthly and quarterly management accounts.
  • Perform monthly and quarterly variance analysis and provide commentary.
  • Reconcile inter-company accounts and bank statements, ensuring accuracy.
  • Monitor and prepare cash flow statements, forecasts, and related analyses.
  • Prepare business plans, budgets, and expense reports.
  • Manage petty cash funds and handle expense analysis.
  • Oversee and record fixed assets in accordance with company policy.
  • Assist with tax compliance, reporting, and filings.
  • Support external and internal audits, providing required documentation.
  • Contribute to special assignments and projects as directed by the Accounting Manager.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial roles.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic; knowledge of French is an asset.
  • Experience in reconciling accounts and preparing financial statements.
