About the job Environmental Manager
Job Description:
- Ensure compliance with national and local environmental regulations and maintain current knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices in the mining industry.
- Manage the development and implementation of the environmental management system based on ISO 14001:2015 Standard.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential environmental impacts of mining activities, fostering a culture that upholds sustainability, CSR, and human rights.
- Oversee environmental monitoring programs (air, water, soil, biodiversity) and manage waste disposal and recycling efforts.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for environmental concerns and coordinate with stakeholders to deliver environmental programs on site and in the community.
- Facilitate communication and reporting on environmental performance to all stakeholders, and develop and conduct related training programs.
- Develop and manage the budget for environmental programs and initiatives, identifying funding opportunities.
- Stay current with industry trends and lead initiatives to improve the environmental performance of Pani Gold Project mining operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering. A Masters degree or professional certifications (LEED, ISO 14001) is a plus.
- Minimum of 15 years experience in environmental management, with at least 5 years in a management role, within the mining industry.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and standards.
- Strong knowledge of Equator Principles and performance standards.
- Proficiency in environmental software and tools.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Proficiency in project management and stakeholder engagement.
- Adaptability and problem-solving skills to address community-related environmental challenges.
- Willing to be placed in PANI Site (Gorontalo).
