Job Description:

  • Ensure compliance with national and local environmental regulations and maintain current knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices in the mining industry.
  • Manage the development and implementation of the environmental management system based on ISO 14001:2015 Standard.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential environmental impacts of mining activities, fostering a culture that upholds sustainability, CSR, and human rights.
  • Oversee environmental monitoring programs (air, water, soil, biodiversity) and manage waste disposal and recycling efforts.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for environmental concerns and coordinate with stakeholders to deliver environmental programs on site and in the community.
  • Facilitate communication and reporting on environmental performance to all stakeholders, and develop and conduct related training programs.
  • Develop and manage the budget for environmental programs and initiatives, identifying funding opportunities.
  • Stay current with industry trends and lead initiatives to improve the environmental performance of Pani Gold Project mining operations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering. A Masters degree or professional certifications (LEED, ISO 14001) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 15 years experience in environmental management, with at least 5 years in a management role, within the mining industry.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and standards.
  • Strong knowledge of Equator Principles and performance standards.
  • Proficiency in environmental software and tools.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Proficiency in project management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Adaptability and problem-solving skills to address community-related environmental challenges.
  • Willing to be placed in PANI Site (Gorontalo).
