Mining Compliance Intern

Summary:

We are actively seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented recent graduate to join our Compliance Department as a Corporate Mining Compliance Intern. The selected candidate will play a critical role in supporting the assurance of operational adherence to national mining regulations, environmental standards, and safety frameworks. Designed to foster expertise in corporate governance, this position provides direct exposure to regulatory reporting, permit management, and corporate risk assessment within a highly structured, multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities:

• Compile, review, and format environmental, safety, and operational data sheets to satisfy strict governmental permitting frameworks and internal compliance standards.
• Assist environmental and engineering teams in tracking and documenting critical site metrics, including reclamation progress, topsoil stockpiling, and post-mining topography compliance.
• Review site risk assessment files in coordination with the Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) lead to ensure that operational designs effectively minimize geotechnical and safety hazards.
• Maintain centralized document control for compliance audits, safety data sheets, and regulatory submissions, ensuring absolute data integrity and accuracy for management review.
• Work synergistically with the Mining Compliance Assistant Manager, surveyors, and production teams to align field operations with corporate compliance strategies and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Mining Engineering or a related discipline (Geological, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering) with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.00.
• Absolute commitment to a continuous 3 to 6-month corporate placement. Strict adherence to a full Work-From-Office (WFO) mandate is highly prioritized, along with immediate availability to commence the internship.
• Foundational understanding of mining industry regulations, environmental compliance standards (such as reclamation practices and post-mining audits), and occupational health and safety risk management.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and corporate data management tools to accurately track compliance metrics, format environmental monitoring data, and prepare safety spreadsheets.
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational capabilities, and a structured problem-solving mindset. Must possess the ability to effectively communicate complex regulatory requirements to cross-functional engineering teams.
