Job Overview: As a GISTM Support Engineer at the Officer level, you will specialize in ensuring all Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management (GISTM) 77 requirements, which include 219 criteria, are fully met. This role involves coordinating Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) governance activities, inspections, and monitoring to support sustainable and safe tailings management. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and experienced engineers, maintain tracking databases for GISTM requirements, and produce monthly progress reports regarding implementation and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and coordinate the implementation and ongoing compliance with GISTM, company standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with TSF governance requirements and proactively identify any gaps or opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinate with the Construction team and external consultants to ensure that GISTM requirements are consistently implemented across projects with proper evidence and records.
  • Maintain all TSF governance documentation, including risk registers, management plans, operating procedures, and emergency preparedness documents.
  • Support the continuous improvement and implementation of TSF management systems, document control, and governance processes.
  • Stay updated on GISTM, ANCOLD, ICMM, and other applicable tailings management standards, and support their implementation when required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Basic knowledge of tailings dams would be an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a mature professional approach.English proficiency would be an advantage.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong ability to work effectively and collaborate across multiple teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for reporting purposes.
  • Willing to be site-based.
