Transmission Specialist (Power Systems - Iraq Experience)

Location: Baghdad, Iraq.
Years of experience: 10 years relevant experience.
Project duration: 1 year.
Language Requirements: Fluency in both Arabic and English (written and spoken).

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Transmission Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering with extensive experience in power transmission, including power systems design, network master planning, and the construction and reconstruction of transmission substations and overhead line projects (110 400 kV). The role requires a professional who can serve as a critical point of contact between the client and an International generation expert, ensuring seamless communication and coordination regarding all aspects of power transmission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Liaison Duties: Act as the primary point of contact between the client and the International generation expert, ensuring effective communication and collaboration on power transmission-related aspects.
• Guidance and Support: Provide guidance to data collector teams regarding transmission network parameters and data collection processes.
• Review and Quality Assurance: Review all transmission-related deliverables, including reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
• Reporting: Regularly report progress, issues, and outcomes to the Team Leader.
• Training Preparation: Develop content for transmission training workshops, in collaboration with the client and the International team, and ensure the training material meets the agreed standards and objectives.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in power transmission.
  • Demonstrated expertise in power systems design, network master planning, and the construction/reconstruction of transmission substations and overhead line projects (110 400 kV).
  • Operational experience in power transmission is highly desirable.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in network modelling software such as PSS/E and DIgSILENT is a significant advantage.
• Language Skills:
  • Fluent in Arabic.
  • Good proficiency in English.
• Interpersonal Skills:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with international teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
