The Role:
Were looking for a Squad Tech Lead to spearhead our Data Management, Governance, BI, and ETL initiatives. This is a 50/50 hybrid role blending hands-on technical expertise with people leadership. Youll lead a cross-functional data squad, ensuring both the architecture and the team thrive in delivering high-quality, scalable, and governed data solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership (50%)
- Architect and develop robust ETL pipelines and data models to support BI and analytics platforms.
- Define and implement data governance frameworks (lineage, quality, privacy, and security).
- Oversee the design and optimization of data warehouses/lakes and data marts.
- Champion best practices for data quality, scalability, and performance.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Business teams to align data solutions with strategic goals.
People Leadership (50%)
- Lead and mentor a squad of Data Engineers, Analysts, and BI Developers.
- Drive an agile delivery approach with a focus on continuous improvement and value delivery.
- Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and accountability.
- Support career development and performance coaching for the squad.
What Were Looking For:
Technical Skills:
- Proven experience in data management, data governance, ETL pipelines, and BI solutions.
- Proficient with SQL and data modeling (star/snowflake schemas).
- Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools (e.g., dbt, Airflow, Informatica, Talend).
- Strong knowledge of data warehousing (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
- Familiarity with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica Data Catalog).
- Nice-to-have: Experience with Python for data processing.
Leadership Skills:
- Experience leading data squads or technical teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Proven track record of mentoring and developing engineers.
- Ability to balance technical hands-on work with leadership responsibilities.
