Job Summary

We are looking for a Backend AI Engineer to design, develop and operate the backend microservices that enable loyalty, health, and personalization features across our pharmacy retail B2C apps.

You'll build the systems that connect our data, business logic, and AI-powered capabilities into seamless, reliable customer experiences leveraging AI coding agents to accelerate delivery and ensure scalability.

This role is about bringing AI into production through solid engineering developing APIs, microservices, ^and automation pipelines that power intelligent consumer features while maintaining robustness, compliance, and quality.

Youll collaborate with product and AI teams but focus on backend architecture, orchestration, and performance ensuring every feature built with AI translates into a consistent, secure, and high-impact user experience. Ultimately, your goal will be to enable models that, through continuous tuning and feedback, become increasingly accurate and aligned with real user needs.

Responsibilities

Guide and supervise model behavior through feedback loops, structured evaluation, and correction mechanisms.

Build and maintain pipelines for fine-tuning and retraining (SFT, LoRA, DPO), integrating user or system feedback safely.

Develop evaluation tools and safety layers (guardrails, moderation, scoring) to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance.

Integrate model lifecycle management into CI/CD workflows versioning, deployment, rollback, and monitoring.

Collaborate with data and platform engineers to ensure efficient model serving, scaling, and observability in Kubernetes environments.

Translate technical insights from model behavior into systemic backend improvements.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in backend engineering (.NET Core / C#, Go, or Java)

Proven experience building and operating cloud-native microservices (Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, ArgoCD).

Strong understanding of API design, service contracts, and observability (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus).

Experience integrating or operating LLM-based APIs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) in production.

Solid grasp of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment practices.

Familiarity with data flows and storage (SQL/NoSQL, queues, message buses).

Clear communicator able to reason about model behavior and system design with both technical and product stakeholders

Nice to Have

Experience with model evaluation or dataset management.

Knowledge of AI-assisted coding tools (Copilot, Cody, ChatGPT).

Experience applying AI in code quality, refactoring, or testing automation contexts.
