Job Description:

Melt Executive is seeking a talented and driven Group Financial Accountant for our client, a leading company in the construction material supplier industry. Reporting directly to the CFO and working closely with the Financial Controller, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to advance your career and gain exposure to a broad range of financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take full ownership of the Accounts Receivable function, including approving sales orders, managing credit control, invoicing, month-end balance reconciliation, emailing customer statements, and following up on payments.
  • Assist with Accounts Payable duties, such as entering invoices, verifying pricing and details with Purchase Orders/GRNs, and ensuring proper approvals are in place.
  • Record and reconcile all banking and credit card transactions.
  • Handle the Payroll function, including weekly and monthly payment runs, adding new employees to the system, processing payroll tax returns, superannuation payments, and payroll reconciliations.
  • Maintain records for company cars, mobile phones, and other assets.
  • Manage Workers Compensation Insurance premium payments, reconciliations, and renewals.
  • Assist with month-end processes and general ledger reviews.
  • Prepare and process payroll and other month-end journals.
  • Support the CFO with ad hoc tasks as needed.

What We Are Looking For:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Accountant.
  • Demonstrated experience using MYOB and XERO; knowledge of Salesforce or Employment Hero is an advantage.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and manage conflicting priorities.
  • A tertiary qualification in Finance/Accounting, CPA or CA qualification, or working towards it.
  • A keen eye for detail and a strong ability to meet deadlines.
  • A solid working knowledge of accounting principles.
