Job Description:
Join our client, a rapidly expanding international freight forwarding company listed on the ASX. With a presence in eight locations across Australia and a global footprint in New Zealand, China, Singapore, and the USA, they are a licensed customs broker equipped with custom bonded warehouses.
Due to their increasing workload, they are on the lookout for an experienced Imports Officer to join their team in Thomastown, Melbourne, on a full-time basis. In this role, the Imports Officer will primarily focus on their growing e-Commerce sector, receiving training in their cutting-edge IT software.
The Role:
- Liaise with clients globally, carriers, ABF, AQIS, and e-commerce platforms.
- Manage, compile, and process all import documentation, including customs and quarantine paperwork.
- Communicate with international clients to coordinate efficient and on-time freight transportation.
- Handle client inquiries and manage customer feedback/complaints promptly.
- Lodge Air/Sea cargo automation and Outturn reports.
- Coordinate with clients and internal staff for cargo delivery arrangements.
- Provide support to customs brokers.
- Complete all required documentation in compliance with company policy and obligations.
- Follow procedures and communicate effectively with the internal and external team.
- Undertake ad-hoc tasks as required by management.
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
- Proficiency in Mandarin (ESSENTIAL).
- At least 1 year of experience in freight forwarding or logistics.
- Service-oriented with a strong customer-focus approach.
- Good customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and effective time management.
- Accurate and fast data entry skills.
- Excellent communication skills in Mandarin and English.
- Good organisational skills.
- Ability to manage conflicting workloads.
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer usage.
- EDI & Cargowise experience (Desirable).
