Job Description:

Our client, a dynamic and growing equipment hire company, is seeking a qualified and motivated Parts Interpreter to join their team in Sunshine Victoria. As a Parts Interpreter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the central store and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and process internal parts inquiries in the central store.
  • Interpret parts requirements for new and leased equipment.
  • Accept parts requisitions from technicians.
  • Receive incoming new parts deliveries and reconcile them against purchase orders.
  • Manage surplus parts from vans, ensuring proper documentation and organisation.
  • Assist with daily/weekly cyclic stock counts and monthly service van stock counts.
  • Handle purchasing responsibilities, including raising purchase orders for parts.
  • Prepare transport/courier documents for daily parcel pick-ups.
  • Maintain a clean and organised warehouse, including the outside storage area.

Additional Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Assist in counting parts, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
  • Verify part numbers, label bins, and relocate parts as necessary.
  • Receive surplus parts from vans back into the central store, including counting new stock holding.
  • Unpack and reconcile incoming new parts deliveries against purchase orders.
  • Keep Parts Manager informed of consumables usage to maintain stock levels.
  • Assist in the day-to-day running of the Parts Department.
  • Support technicians at the parts counter in finding part numbers.
  • Allocate parts to jobs in the system and learn the Parts system for backup purposes.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Understanding of customer relations and business processes.
  • Have a mechanical background and a deep understanding of mechanical equipment parts.
  • Hold a certification in mechanics, or, engineering.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer literacy is advantageous.
  • Team player with strong problem-solving skills.
