About the job Senior Communication Officer
A. Key Accountabilities:
1. Communications & PR
- Build and maintain overall PR & communication strategies, with the main target audience: investors, potential portfolio companies, and future team members.
- Develop and maintain Mekong Capitals key messages in communication so they are delivered to the right intended audiences at the appropriate time.
- Execute corporate branding activities within approved budget, monitor potential media crises and prepare plans to mitigate them.
- Maintain and develop Mekong Capitals social media effectively.
- Build and maintain good relationships with journalists and the media. Work with the media to set up interviews for Partners at Mekong Capital when there are requests, and send out press releases or update positive news at necessary times. Connect our investee companies with the right media outlets when needed and set up interviews for founders/CEOs with top publications.
- Manage the website content and coordinate with tech vendors when updates are needed.
- Keep our photo and video libraries up-to-date and organized with high standards.
2. Presentations:
- Develop and maintain insightful and high quality presentations for investors and fundraising purposes. These currently include but are not limited to: Mekong Capital Pitchbook, Quarterly updates/one-on-one presentation decks to LPs, etc, under the guidance and direction of the Partners and Directors.
3. Storytelling:
- Writing and sharing Stories That Make an Impact: Coordinate with Partners, Deal Leaders and Directors to turn real experiences, successes, or lessons learned into stories that help our team learn and grow.
- Editing and posting stories for Mekong Capitals Public Blog: Share stories by our Partners and Directors that highlight our values, successes, and the journeys of our investee companies. These are especially aimed at investors, future partners, and potential talents.
- Keeping Our Story Library Organized: Maintain a well-organized, easy-to-use collection of stories that team members can refer to for learning and inspiration.
B. Key Requirements:
- 5 - 7 years of experience in Communications or Media. Curious, a good listener, who asks smart questions to learn from senior leaders like CEOs, Partners, Directors, and Managers level.
- Strong business storyteller who can turn real experiences and lessons into clear, engaging stories or articles. Loves learning new ways to tell stories.
- Creative with visuals and content. Can design eye-catching graphics, photos, and layouts that support and enhance stories.
- Great at PowerPoint with a good sense of design and branding.
- Knows how to present data in a simple and clear way.
- Comfortable with tech and familiar with using AI tools to create presentations and videos.
- Emotionally mature and understand people well.
- Learn quickly and gets things done. Can handle multiple projects at once.
