JOB PURPOSE
Roles in this level have prime responsibility for supervising groups of technicians assigned to various
disciplines / areas of work. Their primary responsibility is daily maintenance and upkeep of plant under
responsibility and execution of maintenance jobs as per the plan. They are responsible for the quality
assurance and safety of work carried out by their groups. They have a significant co-ordination role with
end-users for execution of activities. They act as a technical reference point. They must also ensure that
all activities are carried out in compliance with Company Occupational Health, Quality, Safety and
Environment procedures.
This role holder is responsible to supervise the implementation of the scope of works for critical Rotating
Machines (Turbines and Compressor) and static equipment (exchangers and separators) based on site
inputs and inspection reports.
The role holder is responsible to ensure that all assigned tasks are implement in a systematic, efficient,
and economical way, to improve the safety, quality and reliability of the Production Plants.
The role will work closely with maintenance teams, technical, facility maintenance team and contractors
for Turnaround related activities and coordinate with Production HSE, Logistic and other disciplines
during the execution.
The role holder must ensure that all Turnaround activities are carried out within Budget, Time
Scheduled in compliance with Company Occupational Health, Quality, Safety, and Environment
procedures.

Supervisory Role
Supervise teams of technicians assigned to various disciplines/ areas of work, carrying out
maintenance activities to ensure continuous optimum operating condition of plant, equipment,
and systems and that all work meets quality assurance standards.
Work Progress Reporting
Provide superiors with regular work activity reports to enable effective monitoring of overall
progress against agreed plans.
Work Scheduling:
Provide the necessary resources requirement inputs to Planning Engineers and Scheduler to
ensure minimal process downtime and allocate appropriate resources to achieve costeffectiveness.
Technical Expertise
Apply technical expertise for the resolution of problems referred by technicians ensuring they
benefit from the experience.
Provide necessary technical analysis.
Analyze nature of problems
Refer details of nature and occurrence of problems escalated by Technicians to superiors to
enable analysis, determination of root-causes and formulation of effective remedial action.
Spares and Materials:
Communicate and Co-ordinate with superiors and Planning Engineers to ensure spares and
materials are available for scheduled activities and that cost-effective replenishment levels are
maintained.
Turnaround work
Prepare tender documentation for Turnaround work for any material requirements.
Coordinate and carry out technical and commercial evaluation.
Support Turnaround process with respect to urgent and unforeseen material requirement.
Work Permits
Review and approve cold & hot work permit in order to facilitate the execution of assigned
tasks in compliance with safety requirements. Assure use of toolbox meetings in all jobs &
make sure that
Technicians are aware of safety aspects.
Plans & Budgets
Provide input for the development of plans and budgets (including shutdowns) to ensure
adequate provision has been made for anticipated activities.
Materials Inspection
Inspect incoming material to ensure conformity with purchase order. Identify and report
irregularities to enable follow-up action.
Maintain Records
Maintain records of the entire group activities to assess progress and ensure historical
maintenance records are accurate and up to date.
Training Others
Participate in the on-the-job training of trainees and developee's to ensure that they are
equipped with the necessary skills to independently perform maintenance tasks.
Work Progress Reporting
Provide superiors with work status reports to enable effective monitoring of overall progress
against agreed plans with respect to Materials availability.
Additional Requirements for Rotating Machinery Supervisor:
Key Accountabilities:
- Supervise the execution of approved Turnaround (TA) scope for rotating machines and static
equipment in the compressor house area, including inhouse and contractor activities.
- Ensure work packs, manpower, and tools are mobilized as per the approved TA plan and
defined windows.
- Support the Turnaround Engineer by providing field updates and required information during
periodic meetings.
- Verify availability of required manpower, materials, tools, services, and spare parts before and
during execution.
- Follow the approved TA schedule for assigned area and report any delays or constraints.
- Ensure compliance with the Turnaround Management System and site HSE requirements.
- Coordinate with area owners, contractors, and support teams to execute activities within
agreed time and scope.
- Implement the approved execution strategy and ensure clear communication with all involved
parties.
- Identify site execution risks and immediately report them with proposed mitigation actions.
- Maintain close coordination among all stakeholders to ensure timely completion of assigned
scope.
- Provide on-site leadership for technicians and contractors to ensure proper execution and
alignment with TA objectives.
- Manage and execute approved emergent or additional work after receiving required approvals.
- Monitor and coordinate daily TA activities, including inspection and minor project works in the
assigned area.
- Liaise with relevant teams for TA preparation and readiness activities.
- Track, report, and follow up on TA progress and milestones for the assigned scope.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor's Degree in relevant discipline, preferable Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of 5 years proven successful relevant experience in similar roles, preferably Fertilizer
companies.
Having Full understanding of machines, components, types of the inspection, and familiar with
different Machines (Steam Turbine, Gas Turbine, Compressor and Gear boxes), also machine's
auxiliary equipment and static equipment into Compressor House.
Interpretation of machines drawings, clearance data sheet and alignment specifications.
Awareness of machines critical components and handling and rigging precautions
Experience in SAP/4 HANA EAM and Primavera P6 is an advantage
