Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Chemical, Metallurgical or Materials Engineering.
NACE CP Certification
Knowledge and/or Experience
6 years experience in corrosion control and mitigation within the
oil/gas production industry.
Experienced in chemical inhibition, corrosion monitoring,
material selection, degradation mechanisms, and failure analysis
for sour service and utilities facilities, protective coatings,
corrosion monitoring, chemical inhibition and cathodic
protection.
Experience in corrosion systems and in plant facilities with sour
feed gas and plant exposure to a marine climate, including
Utilities.
Working knowledge of national and local codes, International
Codes and Standards, statutory regulations, NDT and inspection
techniques
Key Job Accountabilities
1. Review material selection, design and operational requirements of new projects including the design, installation and commissioning requirements and ensure compliance with companys requirements.
Establish monitoring criteria for all the Corrosion Programs like Cathodic Protection, protective Coating & lining, Chemical Inhibition, Corrosion Monitoring Systems and submits recommendations to supervisor.
2. Define and conduct corrosion monitoring and prevention activities and corrosion investigation including monitoring Integrity Operating Windows affecting corrosion and equipment life and advising operational suitability.
3. Maintain Issue Register identifying and resolving critical issues including lessons learned and new technology risks (under area of responsibility) which could impact new project reliability, availability and cyber security.
4. Develop painting/coating requirements for pipelines, structures, equipment and tanks and give recommendations to supervisor on selection of systems and procedures for proper quality control.
Inspect paint condition and works with inspectors to conduct quality control checks for painting jobs.
5. Provide direct and indirect advice in the field of corrosion engineering to multiple parties within Client or interfacing with or acting as the technical representative for Client Opco with outside organizations
(i.e., shareholders, vendors, other corrosion consultants).
6. Ensure quality implementations of project painting/coating requirements for pipelines, structures, equipment and tanks, and give recommendations about selection of systems and procedures for proper
quality control. Verify and ensure paint quality inspection performed by inspectors.
7. Develop, implement, and steward Corrosion Engineering Programs for company facilities including offshore platforms, pipelines, onshore process facilities, condensate refinery, storage facilities, export
and loading facilities and ensure that company utilizes cost effective corrosion control and monitoring equipment.
8. Review and analyse corrosion engineering reports, test results, failure investigations etc. and providerecommendations on corrective measures or actions to restore equipment functionality, improve
equipment performance, or to extend its operating life. Perform the risk analysis for corrosion related assessments.
9. Follow and execute existing corrosion and integrity related procedures, processes, standards, and best practices as needed to maintain compliance with regulatory standards or improve the effectiveness and
efficiency of corrosion mitigation.
