About the job Communications Specialist
Job Purpose
- Develop and implement corporate communication strategies, tools and programmes for various functions to ensure the media relations and communication related activities are handled appropriately.
Job Context & Major Challenge(s) - I
- Communication includes multiple media such as corporate publications (newsletter and magazine), visibility reports, press releases, social media platforms, communication collaterals, corporate articles, etc.
- Maintain an updated media list of local and international media, benchmarking LNG industry online and print publications best practices, create media buying plans based on brand visibility and key events and conferences, propose branding and advertising opportunities.
- Position Demands (1) strategic direction and work effectively in a multinational, multicultural environment where people/communication issues are generally more complex; (2)
- generate new ideas and communication and branding strategies to promote the Company.
Key Job Accountabilities - I
- Design and develop media management strategies for projects and Company activities to ensure the Company develops media responses through message development, training of spokespeople and adherence to media protocol. Prepare high-level, competitive media analysis/ reports.
- Coordinate the PR crisis management team to include their training and competence development to ensure an effective crisis management plan and arrangements are in place.
- Propose the annual reputation management plan and implement the section process, including establishing priorities and deliverables to uphold Companys Premier reputation.
- Ensure strong knowledge of local and long-term customer-based countries print and digital organisations including specialist/ industry-specific publications with a thorough knowledge of readership/ viewers, circulation, distribution networks; make recommendation on level of participation.
- Prepare standardized media releases and other external digital and online communication materials, aligned with branding and fit for the purpose to accurately represent and promote in the domestic and global markets.
Key Job Accountabilities - II
- Develop, edit, draft and organise writing of press releases and develop proactive and reactive statements as and when required.
- Train and mentor peers and colleagues on media relations development and strategies to develop competence of team members.
- Analyse and implement issues management processes of the Company to ensure robust and consistent approach to issues including the development of appropriate messages and communication activities to support issues management.
- Develop and oversee editorial and production deadlines for the publications; Review all publications issued by the Department; Provide recommendations and advise senior management on presentations/ speeches to ensure content is in line with overall corporate messages.
- Coordinate with Business Support section to prepare Communications section budget. Prepare and implement Division Policy and Procedures, conduct its roll-out programme and assure adherence to relevant policy to ensure that activities are within Company standards and corporate image is protected.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Journalism, Media Communications, Literature or Business Administration.
Knowledge and/or Experience - I
- 8 years experience in Public Relations including at least 5 years experience in Media.
