About the job HSE Officer
- Role Objective
Executing the tasks and duties of the department and control of the implementation of safety procedures, health and environment, assessing its performance, and coordination with regards to issues related to the safety of port installations.
Duties Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist the Department with all matters relating to the safety of port installations and equipment.
- Constantly evaluate the risks surrounding the work environment provided to him by both Health and Safety inspectors, and approve various proposals and plans to avoid their occurrence.
- Coordinate the application of the safety system agreed upon in the port and participate constantly in developing it in coordination with all concerned parties inside or outside the state, along with endeavoring to embody all the safety requirements in accordance with the international standards and treaties regulating them which have been ratified by the State of Qatar.
- Follow-up with, and guide Inspectors in the execution of procedures measures required in the port.
- Preparing and implementing the work plan and an annual mechanism for monitoring.
- Activation of the ports Emergency Plan within limits of his jurisdiction.
- Storing dangerous/hazardous goods.
Educational Qualifications
College Degree/Graduate from an accredited university that is recognized in the State of Qatar.
Full knowledge and familiarity with the systems and the various international maritime treaties which organize maritime works, especially in the fields of safety, health and environment, and to submit respective proof
NEBOSH IGC, OSHA, Train The Trainer Certificates (if any), Diploma in Fire Safety
Experience
Minimum of (5) years of experience in work and direct responsibility in the field of safety, health and environment.
