Roles & Responsibilities
- Implement new designs/upgrades to existing systems.
- Assist in development and maintenance of procedures, standards, and controls to ensure the integrity, reliability, and security of the hospitals information assets.
- Familiar with pertinent process and procedures and related programming practices, software, and hardware to provide required analysis of users problems.
- Test and debug computer programs maintained internally, or software patches & Fixes sent by software Vendors before placing it to production environment.
- Interact with end-users to transform their business requirements into functional specifications and to pass it to Technical Staff or Software vendors.
- Participate in the development of training materials and assist in conducting training and workshop to endusers for the use of computer applications.
- Participate in analyzing current and proposed departmental / user software systems.
- Work with clinical end users to document business processes and guide them through complex application functionality.
- Interact with hardware and software vendors/contractors to solve installation, configuration and operational problems. Identify problem trends and provide information that can be used to eliminate recurring problems.
- Implement application security and create user access& user menus as required.
- Assist in developing training plans and delivery of training programs
- Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by thinking what might go wrong in all your undertakings and take necessary measures to prevent them from happening.
- Identify and report potential or actual patient safety concerns, errors and/or near misses in timely manner.
- Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols.
- Demonstrate as sense of teamwork and effective communication
- Partner with line manager to understand risks in your area of work, develop a plan on how to mitigate those risks, and develop shared accountability for implementing and evaluating the plan.
- Ensure high standards of confidentiality to safeguard any sensitive information
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Business or Health Care
- Minimum 5 years of experience in applications of enterprise-wide IT projects (some of which must have involved implementing Cerner Millennium and/or CareStream)
