Job Purpose

  • Develop, review and update HR policies and procedures whilst ensuring policies and procedures are available and communicated to all employees.

  • The incumbent is required to operate according to specialized administrative standards and established procedures but with a large degree of autonomy in terms of independent planning and work prioritization. The incumbent therefore must be capable of deploying self-initiative and motivation.
  • Exercises initiative and flexibility in view of emerging trends and practices in the labour market and local and International labour laws.

Key Job Accountabilities - I

  • Act as the focal point for all HR policy issues and maintain knowledge of all company HR policies and procedures. Maintain a working knowledge of Client HR policies.
  • Identify the need for new policies, recommend changes to existing policies and provide continual review process of HR policies and procedures. Review, revise, develop and implement new and existing HR policies.
  • Plan, direct and participate in the formulation of the Company's and affiliate companies personnel policies and procedures. Provide advice and recommendation to management, to amend policies based on various considerations.
  • Advise Line Managers and employees on the interpretation and application of HR policies and policy issues.

Key Job Accountabilities - II

  • Conduct studies on local, regional and global markets on policy issues and HR best practices and coordinate with sector companies on major policy changes to maintain Companys competitiveness.
  • Monitor HR policies and procedures and monitor its application to ensure consistent implementation. Liaison with Client on policy alignment and development.
  • Act as focal point on policies and procedures, keep abreast of developments in these fields and ensure the Company is provided with the best possible advice on these issues.
  • Ensure that the Company has up to date policies and procedures including preparing and editing draft policies; reviewing new drafts with line managers making appropriate recommendations related to policies and procedures and gaining necessary internal approvals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or Law.

Knowledge and/or Experience - I

  • 8 years relevant HR experience in the oil and gas sector with at least 3 years in policy development.
