Position Title: Technician Recovery Operator
Contract Duration: 3 months
Purpose: This position is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient recovery of vehicles that have broken down or been involved in accidents.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Recovery Operations
- Recover stranded vehicles using specialized equipment, ensuring the safety of passengers, staff, and public by conducting thorough risk assessments & following established safety protocols
- Load and unload vehicles from wreckers, utilizing appropriate tools and equipment, such as winches, straps & ramps, to ensure secure and damage-free transport
- Secure vehicles for transport, using ropes, blocks, chains, binders and covers, verifying that all loads are properly tied down & stabilized
Damage Assessment and Repair Planning
- Assess damage to vehicles, conduct visual inspections and use diagnostic tools to identify extent of damage & necessary repairs
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to prioritize and plan repairs, discussing repair options & estimating time & resources required
- Provide detailed reports on vehicle damage and repair requirements, including photographs, diagrams & written descriptions
Wrecker Maintenance and Safety
- Maintain wrecker service vehicle in roadworthy condition, performing routine checks and maintenance, such as oil changes, tire rotations & brake pad replacements
- Ensure compliance with all safety and traffic regulations in Qatar, staying up to date on changes to laws & regulations and attending training sessions as required
- Follow HSE regulations during recovery operations, wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), using safety harnesses, and maintaining a safe distance from hazards
Administrative and Logistical Tasks
- Maintain daily records and logs of recovery operations, including details of vehicles recovered, locations & times
- Demonstrate good knowledge of Qatar roads and locations, using GPS navigation systems & maps to plan efficient routes
- Plan and optimize routes for efficient recovery operations, minimizing fuel consumption & reducing response times
