PLANNING ENGINEER
1. JOB SCOPE:
Prepare & establish detailed engineering plan schedule, monitor, and coordinate all assigned modifications and projects in conjunction with project management and end user team for a wide range of tasks related to discipline scope, develop master plan with target dates and control S-Curves for all projects with timely update
2. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Description
- Prepare Shutdown maintenance execution schedules in micro level, monitor completion of the work carried out and forecasts activities during shutdowns.
- Able to assess and detail the job steps, resource requirement and Estimate duration & cost.
- Prepare with Maintenance and Operations group a shutdown logic showing clear sequence of various activities from shutdown to start-up.
- Ability to do resource loading and levelling and project the final resource requirement.
- Carry out schedule updating, and issue various look-ahead schedules as required.
- Able to carry out delay analysis and recommend the catch-up/recovery plans.
- Able to identify and track critical path activities to achieve scheduled completion of activities.
- Must be able to produce various progress metrics and reports including S-Curve.
- Planning and system support for Shutdown activities through close liaison with the Shutdown Team, Maintenance and Operations group.
- Able to identify the risk involved in each job, plan mitigation and incorporate them in the schedule.
- Proven ability to work well both independently and within a team environment.
- Co-ordinate with vendors, Contractors, other service providers to get inputs for scheduling.
- Ability to lead scheduling team and co-ordinate activities.
3. Health, Safety, Environment and Quality
- Ensure compliance to all relevant quality, health, safety, and environmental management procedures.
- To work closely with HSE and Quality on related tasks such as process safety, maintaining and updating system documentation.
- Participate in modifications/projects reviews such as risk assessments, HAZOP, etc. to assure compliance to all defined standards and contribute to corrective actions.
4. Reports
- Provide inputs in the preparation of timely and accurate reports on modifications/projects.
5. INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS:
Internal:
- Project team, requesters/project owners, inventory/procurement team and relevant departments.
External:
- Contractors, Vendors, Consultants, and service providers.
6. WORK ENVIRONEMENT:
- Senior Automation Engineer shall be responsible for the effective execution of Instrumentation & Control systems engineering as per aspects of assigned projects/ programs.
- Completed work assignments are subject to review by the supervisor.
- Works independently most of the time and/or as part of an integrated project, investigation, and review and/or audit team.
7. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications
- B.Sc. Eng or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
- Minimum 5 years Middle east/Gulf experience is mandatory
- Proficiency in English Language (Speak, Read, and Write)
- Minimum 3 Years working knowledge in Primavera Project Management latest version.
Minimum Work Experience
- 8 years work experience in refinery or petrochemical Oil and Gas plant in maintenance section out of which minimum 3 5 years in scheduling.
- Should have thorough hands-on experience in scheduling software Primavera P6.
- Should have working experience in SAP (PM/MM) and MS Office cover MS project tool.
- Good understanding on safety requirements and applying safe work practices during scheduling.
- Strong co-ordination & interpersonal skills
