Job Purpose

  • Lead the deck crew in undertaking the safe and efficient performance of all deck activities, particularly regarding rigging and lifting operations, offload/backload cargo on all company offshore platforms to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Execute the duties of Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO) in compliance with international standards and procedure as prescribed by the local Aviation Authority.

Reporting and Relationships - I

  • Reports to Senior Logistics & Materials Supervisor.
  • Direct reports: 1.

Internal

  • Liaise with Radio Operator, Offshore Medic, various offshore dept. teams and disciplined Supervisors, Onshore Logistic Co-ordinator.

External

  • 3rd party contractor representatives and Vessel & Helicopter captains and crews.

Job Context & Major Challenge(s)

  • Lead role in prioritise and provide (1) safe & efficient deck crew services to multiple user departments; (2) offshore Crane Operator performance & procedural compliance; (3) helicopter deck operations, including refuelling & in-field shuttle coordination; (4) infield personnel, material and cargo transfer to support O&M campaigns on multiple remote wellhead platforms.
  • Emergency Response team member duties, as assigned.
  • Work 28/28 rotation, working 12-hour shifts.
  • Support 24-hour crane & Heli-deck coverage on as need basis.


Key Job Accountabilities - I

  • Lead the deck crew operations with cargo and equipment movements, backload/offload including equipment and material distribution on the main complex and on remote platforms.
  • Provide rigging and scaffolding services and ensure waste segregation and general deck housekeeping services are completed including washing of platforms & bridges.
  • Conduct oversight for all infield cranes operations & crane general inspections on all platforms to ensure compliance with company procedures and policies, including crane logbook entry compliance.
  • Provide infield supervision of any Personnel Basket Transfer by crane, due to restrictive conditions.
  • Assist maintenance and safety crews when carrying out works on cranes including repositioning crane arm, lowering or lifting pulley, testing equipment etc. as instructed by maintenance or safety crew.

Key Job Accountabilities - II

  • Lead and establish all helideck operations, as a certified HLO, during landing, take-off and emergency events on the helideck. Provide helicopter re-fuel services including Heli fuel storage, sampling logging and Heli fuel skid certification requirements.
  • Maintain records of all Certified Lifting gear available on each platform and ensures compliance with all requirements for ad-hoc and bi-annual lifting gear inspection & recertification activities.
  • Develop daily routine lifting plans, as required in the companys lifting procedure.
  • Facilitate the safe movement of hazardous good to and from the platforms in line with International Dangerous Goods (IMDG) regulations.
  • Maintain a record for compliance to mandatory training requirement for the deck crews and crane operators.

Part B: Person Specification - Minimum Requirement

Qualifications

  • Completion of Secondary School followed by certification as Helicopter Landing Officer, Offshore Crane Operator and Scaffolding & Rigging at Supervisor level, which should be a five-year vocational credential (HND).

Knowledge and/or Experience - I

  • 7 years experience within the oil and gas sector, in an offshore environment, of which 3 years in supervisory level.
  • 5 years previous experience as crane operator within an Offshore Environment.
  • 5 years previous experience in Offshore Helideck operations as an HLO.
