-Proven experience in designing and implementing technical career development programs or initiatives at a Defense sector

-Strong understanding of technical roles, competencies, and career paths within the organization.

-Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.

-Strong organizational and project management abilities to plan, coordinate, and execute career development initiatives effectively.

-Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and other e-learning platforms.

-Ability to analyze data and metrics to measure the effectiveness and impact of career development programs.

-Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and advancements in the technical field.

- Professional certifications related to career development, coaching, or training are desirable.

-Certified psychometric assessor preferably





Job Purpose

The Specialist - Technical Career Development is responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive career development programs and initiatives to support the growth and progression of technical professionals within the organization. He/She will collaborate with various stakeholders, including HR, managers, and employees, to identify development needs, create customized development plans, and deliver targeted learning opportunities. The Specialist - Technical Career Development will play a key role in fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with managers, and employees to identify technical career development needs and gaps within the organization.
  • Design and implement comprehensive career development programs, frameworks, and processes for technical professionals, aligning them with business goals and objectives.
  • Assess and evaluate existing technical competencies and skills frameworks to ensure alignment with industry standards and best practices.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees in the creation of individualized career development plans, including identifying learning opportunities and potential career paths.
  • Conduct needs assessments and coordinate the delivery of technical training programs, workshops, seminars, and other learning initiatives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in the technical field to identify relevant training and development opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a repository of technical career development resources, including training materials, job aids, e-learning modules, and other relevant content.
  • Collaborate with external vendors, consultants, and subject matter experts to leverage external expertise and resources when needed.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of technical career development initiatives through metrics, feedback, and performance reviews.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to technical professionals to enhance their skills, knowledge, and overall career growth.
  • Act as a resource for employees seeking guidance on technical career development, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional advancement.
