About the job Field Coordinator

This position is safety critical, supervision and coordination at all sites, is crucial to overall project success. Field Coordinator keeps control of Contractors work activity during normal work hours, weekends, and off hours. Close supervision of all site activities supports our safety objectives and ensures quality workmanship. This will help to ensure projects are completed safely on time and within the budget.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/ Civil Engineering/ I&E Engineering or equivalent.

Preferred: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering/ Civil Engineering/ I&E Engineering or equivalent. Computer Skills: MS office, MS Project knowledge is an added advantage.
Proficiency in English language (all the four skills as per Human Capital Test Procedures).

Minimum Work Experience
8 years in Oil and Gas, and Petrochemical industry plant construction (Minimum 5 years in construction of projects, Brownfield experience is a must).

Job Requirements (but not limited to)
Safety in Project Execution
Ensure that all assigned Projects execution is in compliance with Q Chem safety policy and procedures.
Support Construction Engineer to follow training requirements of Contractor staff and always ensure compliance.
Support Construction engineer in conducting Safety audits to monitor compliance by the Contractors.
Reports all safety incidents, including injuries, accurately and in timely manner.
Understands the QSAFE (Behavioral Safety Observations) process and actively participates in compliance with observations expectations.
Conversant with typical industrial Safety Policies and Life critical Procedures, such as lock out/tag out, confined space entry, permit to work, etc.
Ensure Contractor work crew thoroughly understand emergency response, assembly points location, wind direction and evacuation routes.
Execute Projects effectively
Responsible as nominated DSR (Dedicated site representative) for the assigned projects.
Able to work in challenging work environment (70% - on site work, 30% office activity).
Get familiar with the detailed construction scope, schedule, and sequence.
Coordinate with other disciplines and departments and Contractors during execution phase of Project.
Assist and provide work direction to contractor supervisors in executing Projects.
Review of design drawings, method statements, facilitate JSAs and review critical lift plans for safe execution.
Ensure work permits are issued in time and crew does not remain idle, supporting Contractor in preparing the documents and obtain work permits.
Ensure day today construction issues are addressed in timely manner.
Conduct toolbox talk and ensure compliance to Company Safety policy and procedures.
Support Construction Engineer in preparing the daily progress report for assigned projects.
Continuous monitoring of changing field conditions and suggesting corrective actions that require a sound judgment.
Monitoring overall project progress and report any delays or problems related to execution.
Actively participate and lead pre-commissioning, punch listing and PSSR and support for successful commissioning of the Project.
Maintain records for the Contractor resources and perform audit frequently.
Participate in daily, weekly, or monthly planning meetings as required.
Provide input to construction engineer related to any changes with regards to the project design and scope of work.
Facilitate inspection of incoming project materials and handover to the Contractor.
Support project/construction engineer in keeping Project folders up-to-date and during Technical close out and Handover of Projects to end user.
Ensure construction Contractor understands Heat Index and compliance to work/rest cycles and mitigations are in place.
May be required to issue permits after necessary training and approval from Safety department.
Coordinates with environmental section and Contractor for waste removal as per scope of work.
