Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering / Marine Engineering.

Knowledge and/or Experience

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in marine civil engineering, with a strong background in port and coastal facilities planning and design, particularly in oil and gas industry. Candidates must demonstrate comprehensive understanding of port planning, facility layouts, and ship operations. Candidates must have hands on experience in managing mooring analysis or hydrodynamic studies related to port and coastal engineering projects. Candidates should also be proficient in relevant software tools and modelling techniques used port and coastal facilities planning and design.
  • In depth knowledge of regulations and industrial standards related to port developments such as ISO, OCIMF, PIANC, ISGOTT, ASCE, ACI, AASHTO, and Qatar National Construction Standards.

Key Job Accountabilities 

  • Lead and oversee the delivery of engineering studies for the development of a new port within oil and gas plant, ensuring it aligns with the projects objectives while adhering to relevant industrial & Company standards and specification such as ISO, OCIMF, PIANC, ISGOTT, ASCE, ACI, AASHTO, and Qatar National Construction Standards.
  • Collaborate with external contractor and manage the delivery of engineering studies and ensuring the work complies with industrial & Company standards and specification. Provide technical review on contractor engineering study deliverables.
  • Provide technical guidance and solutions for challenges related to port design, coastal engineering, and marine structures.
  • Engage companys multidiscipline expertise to ensure multidiscipline deliverables are meeting the project objectives and complies with industrial & Company standards and specification
  • Manage the engineering studies budget and schedule to ensure they are on target and within budget
  • Execute Company Project Management system staged gate process to deliver the study towards FEED and EPC stage.
  • Provide input to Supply team to define contract scope of works, terms and conditions, bid evaluation, and other deliverables to manage the procurement process.
  • Lead meetings, prepare reports and documentations for communication with relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct internal preliminary feasibility analysis, including site assessments, environmental impact assessment, and economic feasibility for a new port development.
