Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical or Safety).

Knowledge and/or Experience

8 years experience in loss prevention and industrial safety in the oil and gas industry.

Experience with special emphasis on process safety, and risk assessment/studies.

Experience inleading hazard identification reviews utilizing recognized techniques (e.g., HAZOP, What-If, etc.) with a good understanding of both qualitative and quantitative risk assessment techniques.

Practical knowledge of safe systems of work is essential with Emergency Preparedness knowledge/experience.

Ability to read and communicate engineering drawings/documents.

Technical and Business Skills

Ability to work under tight timelines in sometimes high-pressure situations.

Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office, hazard identification software (e.g., PHAPro), consequence modelling software (e.g., PHAST), or other software (e.g., BowTie).

Very good knowledge or written and spoken English with ability to produce procedures, technical reports, and present them to various level of audience.

Requires analytical, interpretative and constructive thinking skills.

Key Job Accountabilities

1. Provide Process Safety, Loss Prevention & Risk Engineering support to operating assets during normal operations, maintenance, shutdowns and brownfield projects.

2. Ensure process safety by identifying and assessing process components that pose risks and developing procedures and action plans to mitigate them.

3. Support risk-engineering activities related to risk management and risk analyses studies responding to plant operational events, assisting in the development of risk-based solutions to novel or higher risk situations.

4. Coordinate deployment and implementation of company process safety and risk management objectives and programs in the assigned assets.

5. Provide Loss Prevention input and review for engineering documentations, project deliverables, interface documents to ensure they meet with the relevant standards.

6. Facilitate, lead hazard identification and risk assessment studies and prepare related reports.

7. Coordinate company-wide Safety Case & Barrier Management efforts in the assigned assets.

8. Participate in Management of Change (MOC) process. Review Management of Change requests (MOCs) and consult with assigned engineers and the functional groups to ensure that Plant\Field integrity and safety is maintained.

9. Manage, Review and Analyze process safety performance indicators, develop required report and provide insight analysis to support performance improvement.

10. Represent Loss Prevention in projects for safety studies (as required) including, HAZOP, HAZID, 3D Model Review, SIL Review, QRA.
