Job Description:

Undertakes reservoir engineering studies of the CLIENT oilfields to optimize field development plans. Analyze reservoir and well performance data and develop reservoir surveillance programs. Conduct reservoir management activities. Participate in interdisciplinary reservoir study teams. Prepare detailed/integrated development plans for underdeveloped hydrocarbon resources. Develop and mentor less experienced staff.

As and when required by CLIENT and to support international opportunities, the Snr. RE should provide reservoir engineering support for all exploration activities and studies across CLIENT s International non-operated assets Responsible for new venture opportunity screening, prospect & lead evaluation, drilling preparation & monitoring and studies

Required qualifications, experience and expertise:

  1. Minimum fifteen (15) years of experience in reservoir engineering activities emphasizing large carbonate reservoirs.
  2. Significant experience working on mature oil fields under water flood.
  3. Strong background in reservoir surveillance and optimization.
  4. Experience as reservoir engineer in exploration/appraisal and development
  1. Experience in reservoir fluid sampling, fluid property modelling, routine and special core analysis.


  1. Strong background in well test interpretation, material balance modelling and performance modelling of vertical and horizontal wells.

Experience in reserves evaluation, classification, and booking.

  1. Exposure to field life-cycle planning from exploration, appraisal/field development planning and project delivery/execution.
  2. Must have strong dynamic reservoir simulation experience and uncertainty modelling
  3. Must have strong teamwork skills, and it would be an advantage to have experience working in a multicultural environment.
  4. Must be able to communicate effectively with peers, less experienced staff, field staff, and management.

Must have experience mentoring less experienced engineers.

  1. Must have experience/knowledge of current computer software for reservoir engineering applications.
  2. B.Sc. is required in Petroleum Engineering or Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.

Preferable experience and expertise:

Well test interpretation SAPHIR.

  • Reservoir surveillance OFM.
  • - Well performance modelling Prosper.
  • Experience in wells and reservoir forecasting, reserve calculations, DCAs.
  • Experience in numerical reservoir simulation in using of Eclipse100 and 300 in particular, history matching and field development.
  • Experience in EOR techniques such as miscible/ immiscible and CO2 injection.
  • Experience in applying reservoir knowledge and skills to assess field compartmentalization issues and problems.
  • Experience working knowledge of gas condensate reservoir as well as gas field development experience.
  • Desirable to have knowledge of geo-statistics, integrated reservoir characterization, fault and fracture studies as well as risk assessment/management.
  • Experience in static reservoir modelling and description.
  • Experience in working with standard reservoir engineering software:
    • Simulation Eclipse 100 ,300, and INTERSECT in particular and other software related to the Eclipse suite of programs.
    • Fluid property modelling PVTi.
    • Material balance MBAL.
