Job Description Highlights:

  • Develop and lead comprehensive Loss Prevention activities for COMP1&3 Projects (Subsea pipelines, offshore Wellhead and Riser Platform), ensuring all safety and loss prevention requirements such as philosophies, codes, practices are in compliance with NFPS project and COMPANY requirements and standards. Provide clear guidance to the EPC contractor and facilitate resolution of loss prevention issues to complete discipline activities consistent with project objectives and milestones.
  • Develops safe, fit-for-purpose technical solutions that meet the intent of project requirements.
  • Review Contractors Loss Prevention/Process Safety Engineering design deliverables. Support the EPC by providing clear guidance to close out appropriate actions associated with LP activities such as safety case, studies, risk assessments, HAZOPs etc."
  • Coordinating and liaison with other engineering disciplines as necessary in the preparation and development of the deliverables and ensuring that other disciplines' input is incorporated.
  • Provide advice to Project Engineering personnel & Management on all aspects of risk reduction, mitigation and safety engineering matters
  • Ensures quality assurance and production timing of the Loss Prevention / Process Safety engineering deliverables is in accordance with the approved project execution schedule.
  • Apply knowledge and experience to coordinate/execute formal safety & risk assessments and review of engineering design, drawings, specifications, to ensure the project meets Technical Safety and Loss Prevention specifications, standards and performance requirements.
  • Participating in project HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, SIMOPS, Bow-Tie workshops, and other safety workshops when required. Lead / Drive EPC contractor to deliver technical safety studies (e.g. Fire Risk Analysis (FRA)/ Fire Explosion Blast Risk Analysis (FEBRA), Evacuation Escape and Rescue Analysis (EERA), Temporary Refuge Impairment Analysis (TRIA), Smoke and Gas Ingress Analysis (SGIA), Essential Systems Vulnerability Analysis (ESVA), Dispersion modelling/ analysis, thermal radiation, gas plume analysis, Fire and Gas Mapping and As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP) demonstration.
  • Manage and advise contractor Loss Prevention/Proces Safety organisation in respect to compliance with COMPANY policies and procedures; engineering and design procedures, processes and deliverables; staffing plans, personnel suitability and adequacy and the successful resolution of any claims.
  • Providing sound technical advice and solutions to a diversity of technical problems within the discipline. Provide technical support related to Safety Engineering at the fabrication/construction sites, whenever required.
  • Represent the Technical Safety and Loss Prevention Engineering discipline during meetings, audits, verifications, workshops and technical reviews and be responsible for an effective and timely resolution of identified issues.
  • Act as the package responsible engineer for safety, life-saving and firefighting equipment.
