Job Description:

Position reports to Drilling Superintendent (Offshore)

  1. Accountable for all HSE aspects of all completion operations under his/her control. Ensure full compliance with Corporate, Directorate and Departmental QHSE policies and procedures.
  2. Perform all well completion engineering and supervisory duties related to the assigned rigs, including the planning and selection of completion equipment and services required.
  3. Assist in the preparation of the long-term well completion material forecast to deliver fit for purpose completions.
  4. Prepare the detailed step-by-step completion program based on the well prognosis requirements, including the detailed specification of the completion accessories setting depths, completion type, weight and grade of tubing and well head design.
  5. Manage all completion services as sub-assemblies make-up, tubing running services and other contractors to make sure they are aware of the completion schedule and when their services are required, thus delivering an efficient and problem free completion operations.
  6. Monitor the operations on the assigned rig (on call 24 hours a day and 28/28 rotational basis) and maintain close liaison with the Drilling Supervisor and completion service companies.
  7. Supervise the operations at the rig site during the running of the completion equipment, pulling of ESP completions during workovers, the installation of the x- mas tree and during any unplanned operations such as fishing of completion equipment to mitigate and resolve operational problems during the installation.
  8. Ensure all well files relates to the completed wells are updated and maintained as the official database to ensure the completion information is accurate and properly kept.
  9. Manage operational and QHSE performance of the assigned completions services and equipment contract to ensure that the contract is implemented in accordance to ISND standards and requirements. Assist in preparation of tender documents for contracts relating to completion services or equipment and participate in the technical evaluation of tenders.
  10. Provide technical and operational advice to Asset Development and Field Operations regarding downhole completions and wellhead well designs to ensure
  11. the optimum design and completion cost is selected prior to the issue of the well prognosis. Make recommendations for new technology and new operational techniques to deliver continuous performance improvement.
  12. Lead NPT Root Cause Analysis if an equipment or service failure occurred.

Required qualifications, experience and expertise:

  1. BSc. in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline is desired, but can be waived if extensive directly relative experience is offered. Candidate should also have relevant technical courses in completion design, drilling operations, wellhead design and well control, IWCF Level 4 required.
  2. Minimum of 15 years experienced in completion operations and wellhead installations, including 5-year experience in offshore operations (jack up rigs).
  3. Experience in ESP installation is highly desirable.
  4. Innovative, with the ability to challenge conventional methods and capacity to drive through new initiatives.
  5. Strong analytical skills, able to identify risks and opportunities and set priorities to achieve results.
  6. Excellent English language manage in oral and writing. Skilled in preparing quality reports.

Preferable Experience and Expertise

ii. Experience with a major service company who specialize in the manufacture of downhole completion equipment (Baker, Halliburton or Schlumberger)
