About the job Sr. Process safety Officer
- PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To assist in organizing and monitoring the activities related to process safety for CLIENT, to ensure effectiveness of PSM in the organization to minimize risks and enhancement of barriers so that safety of asset, people and environment is ensured.
TASKS PERFORMED
- Process Safety Management System.
- To coordinate and compile the process safety KPIs to develop the process safety dashboard.
- To perform the process safety KPI analysis to support the manager to define the corrective actions to improve the process safety in the organization.
- To have sound understanding of API-754 to categorize Tier-1/2/3/4 events.
- To develop IOGP guidelines for barrier management in CLIENT
- To ensure the record keeping of HAZOP actions and ensure the progress is being tracked through action tracking system. Moreover, HAZOP recommendation field verification, Various HAZOP related activities, action tracking.
- To assist lead process safety engineer in the management of pre-startup safety review during the turnaround and ensure the follow up of Punch A and Punch B items.
- To ensure the correction of process safety incidents/near miss and safety observations on daily basis to keep SAP organized as per the risk matrix.
- To keep process safety master data up to date for live analysis whenever is required.
- To plot the process safety data in power BI for analytical view.
- To assist respective process safety engineer to manage the emerging risk data.
- Provide support to conduct safety induction training for CLIENT new employees.
- Provide support for the safety instructions to all contractors employees and visitors before entering the plant for the first time.
- Provide assistance to conduct relevant audits on process safety management system and compile the observations.
- Keep the record of MOC files to ensure swift and timely review of modifications.
- To compile and manage the Lesson Learned database (REX Management system)
- To prepare the PS Beacon by linking it with CLIENT process.
- Assist in incident investigation, data collection, documentation.
- Assist in SPEAR activities, scheduling meetings, arranging security gate passes & induction trainings of DSS personals.
- To compile and keep the record of safety variance data.
- To provide support in conducting Fire Incident Analysis.
- To develop and deliver PS trainings to employees and contractors.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in engineering, Safety or Masters in chemistry.
- ASP/CSP
- NEBOSH certificate or any recognizable Health & Safety association certificate, preferable.
- Certified Lead auditor from recognizable institute.
- Certified Train the trainer from recognizable institute.
Minimum Experience:
- 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and petrochemical with good exposure on operation management and HSE.
- 05 years of experience in process safety management system.
- 05 years of experience in incident management & investigations will be preferred.
- 03 years of experience in managing process safety KPIs.
- Sound understanding of API-754
Job-Specific Skills (Generic / Technical):
- Knowledge and understanding of local security policies and regulations as published by the Ministry of Interior.
- Demonstrated knowledge of PSM/loss prevention practices, and about the local and industry fire and safety codes and regulations, standards, and specifications, such as those under OSHA, NFPA and BS
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of safety procedures and policies.
- Good communication and training skills
- Good knowledge of the Process Safety Management system
- Ability to work on his own initiative while functioning as an integral part of a team.
- Readiness to adhere and contribute to the PSM requirements of the CLIENT activities
- Good interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral), organizational ability and computer literacy.
- Working knowledge of risk assessment methods.
