1. PURPOSE OF THE JOB

• To maintain and repair safety and firefighting equipment in the workshop and manage an efficient record keeping system for the equipment and spare parts to ensure adequate stocks of safety and emergency equipment and protective personal equipment are available in good condition and the workshop and safety store are maintained at all times.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Maintain and repair safety and firefighting equipment such as: dry chemical powder extinguishers, CO2 fire extinguishers, water fire extinguishers, mobile foam generators, self-breathing apparatus sets, firefighting water hoses, air hoses, and airline to ensure integrity of equipment and availability at all times.

• Maintain All safety materials such as harnesses and lifelines to ensure availability at all times

• Use and maintain all the tools and equipment available in the workshop such as: Air and CO2 compressors, dry chemical powder filling machine, fire hoses testing machines, gas masks cleaning unit to ensure the tools are calibrated and are in good working condition.

QUALIFICATINS AND EXPERIENCE

• Completion of high school
• 6 years' experience
• Experience in repair of safety equipment including a basic maintenance course is preferable
