ELECTRICAL CAD DESIGNER
1. JOB SCOPE:
- Develop plans, electrical drawings, and sketches for petrochemical plant by using computer-aided design and drafting (CAD or CADD) software programs.
- 2D Design of all Electrical deliverables in AutoCAD / E3D / CADWorx Professional / REVIT.
- 3D Modelling in AutoCAD / E3D / CADWorx Professional / REVIT.
2. JOB DESCRIPTION:
Description
Perform site survey and design for modification to existing facility or new minor and capex.
- Coordination with design work of other disciplines.
- Work from rough sketches and specifications created by engineers.
- Prepare multiple versions of designs for review by engineers.
- Modify existing CLIENT plant drawings.
- Keep proper record of all transmittals receiving and delivering.
- Completes any other tasks as needed or as directed by management.
- Re-Create drawings from scanned PDFs or any other format to editable format in AutoCAD.
- Prepare as built drawing from Redline mark-ups.
- Provide timely inputs in the preparation of accurate reports on modifications/ projects.
- Modify existing CLIENT plant drawing, Plots and layout
- Keep proper record of all transmittals receiving and delivering.
- Completes any other tasks as needed or as directed by management.
3. Health, Safety, Environment and Quality
- Ensure compliance to all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental management procedures.
- To work closely with HSE and Quality on related tasks such as process safety, maintaining and updating system documentation.
- Participate in modifications/projects reviews such as risk assessments, HAZOP, etc. to assure compliance to all defined standards and contribute in corrective actions.
4. Reports
- Provide inputs in the preparation of timely and accurate reports on modifications/projects.
5. INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS:
Internal:
- Project team, requesters/project owners, inventory/procurement team and relevant departments.
External:
- Contractors, Vendors, Consultants, and service providers.
6. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Full Time Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent from recognized institute with Certification in AutoCAD/ CAD Worx Professional/ REVIT/ E3D application.
Minimum Experience:
5+ years (Prefer Gulf Country Experience).
- Proficiencies required in Basic & Detailed Engineering Preparation and Checking of:
- SLD, Metering and Protection Diagrams.
- Substation Room Equipment Layout.
- Hazardous Area Classification Layouts.
- Grounding, Lightning Protection, Cable Tray & Trench, Cable Routing, Lighting & Small Power Layouts.
Extraction of MTO.
- Should be able to perform basic design calculations including electrical Load calculations, DB schedule, Cable sizing and Breaker sizing.
Should have experience to Work independently on projects.
- Should have ability to read and understand PIDs, schematic, hook-up drawings, Panel wiring diagrams and familiar with drawing standards.
- Initiative and good interpersonal skills.
- Work independently on challenging projects.

Language & communication skills:
- Ability to communicate fluently in English language.
- Strong oral and written communications skills.
- Coordinate and communicate with clients, consultants, contractors, and project team members.
Computer Skills:
- Strong knowledge of latest version of Auto CAD / CAD Worx Professional/ REVIT/ E3D software and application.
- Able to draw both 2D and 3D views.
- Familiar with MS office.
