Job Purpose

  • Reporting to Head of Commissioning QFAB, the Commissioning electrical Lead is responsible for managing Commissioning during preparation and execution stage of NFXP Offshore project to ensure objectives are safely met within the approved scope and schedule

Commissioning electrical Lead shall ensure that all his scope of work is completed in accordance with safety and quality standards applicable

Key Accountabilities

(Duties include but not limited to)

  • Manage all execution of electrical commissioning activities to achieve commissioning schedule on target with all safety requirements especially during SIMOPS
  • Monitor the contractor electrical commissioning activities making sure the OPERCOM® methodology is respected and the system database ICAPS© is used properly
  • Lead execution for electrical commissioning at site (At the Yard onshore and offshore) and keep commissioning execution committed to targets defined by the project management, maximising onshore commissioning activities vs offshore
  • Monitoring of VENDORS activities during SAT, Punchlist clearance, OTP etc
  • Focal point for electrical commissioning activites for the complete execution stage, for promoting and implementing of system completion and system completion database at site
  • Champion initiatives with the Contractor to deliver on the project objectives i.e. safety, quality, cost and schedule and review for contractors commissioning execution effort and provide recommendations as necessary
  • Provide guidance and timely review on contractors commissioning execution plan and processes verifying fitness for purpose and compliance with contract requirements including codes and standards
  • Ensure coordination and communication for site activities with other disciplines such as contruction, hook-up and Completion Team
  • Ensure Contractor Commissioning submitts all documents as per schedule and that they are timely reviewed and approved in accordance with the EPC contract requirements
  • Review and propose mitigation for Commissioning aspects of the Risk Management Plan and Monitor the mitigation when defined
  • Review all Commissioning changes, including justification for cost and schedule impacts, in accordance with the MOC procedure
  • Attend to meetings as required, mentor the trainees to develop their project skills and experience while being on site; Maintain a register of lessons learned

Qualifications

Master degree in electrical or Bachelor degree with minimum 10 years experience

Knowledge and/or Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of total experiences with at least 6 years demonstrated as commissioning experience in major capital projects
  • Fully familiar with commissioning of key electrical equipments such as UPS and HV and LV switchgear, VSR, normal and emergency power distribution, HVAC, Navigation Aid, ELICS/PMS, subsea cable and umbilical, transformer and electrical protection system
  • Familiar with LOTO procedures and electrical codes and standards
  • Familiar to work in interface with several EPCs
  • Familiar with system completion database ICAPS and OPERCOM methodology
  • Worldwide commissioning experience with contractors or under company in particular those involved in the Commissioning and start up support of Offshore production facilities
  • Experiences for handling EPC contractors, sub-contractors and vendors involved in the oil and gas industry and familiar with preparation of workpack and jobcard for offshore campaign.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and the ability to communicate and interact within a PMT
  • Application and in depth knowledge of stakeholder specifications and a working knowledge of Industry standards.
  • Conversant with ATEX/IEC regulations
