Job Purpose

The Offshore Completion Technician is responsible for the installation, operation, and retrieval of intelligent completion equipment and associated downhole tools during offshore operations. The role supports safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of completion activities while ensuring compliance with client and company operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and run intelligent completion equipment, control lines, and downhole completion tools offshore.
  • Participate as a member of a 6–8 person offshore completion crew.
  • Perform rig-up, rig-down, tool deployment, and retrieval operations.
  • Ensure safe handling, installation, and operation of completion equipment.
  • Follow approved operational procedures and client requirements.
  • Assist in troubleshooting operational issues during offshore activities.
  • Conduct equipment inspections before and after operations.
  • Maintain operational records and job documentation.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and risk assessments.
  • Comply with all HSE policies, permit-to-work systems, and offshore safety requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Technical Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Proven offshore experience with downhole completion equipment.
  • Experience working within offshore completion crews.
  • Strong understanding of offshore operational practices.
  • Valid offshore certifications such as:
    • BOSIET/FOET
    • Offshore Medical Certificate
    • HS Awareness (where required)
    • Additional client-specific certifications as applicable.
