Education Qualification / Experience :

Engineering graduate with a minimum of 10 years planning experience in onshore fertilizer or petrochemical facilities and 3–5 years on major projects.

Managing Activities

1. Project Planning & Scheduling

  • Ensure the EPCC Contractor develops and maintains comprehensive project schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover phases, fully compliant with contract requirements.
  • Lead the development and approval of baseline schedules, including resource loading and logic networks.
  • Oversee the Contractors critical path analysis, float management, and schedule optimization to ensure timely achievement of project milestones.
  • Coordinate with discipline leads and contractors to align detailed schedules with the overall project master schedule.
  • Monitor actual progress against baseline and forecast schedules, promptly identifying variances, delays, and recommending effective recovery or acceleration plans.
  • Implement and manage planning tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project), ensuring consistent application and reporting standards across all stakeholders.

2. Progress Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track and report physical progress, earned value, and schedule performance metrics.
  • Validate and review monthly progress reports and updates submitted by contractors.
  • Prepare and present weekly/monthly progress reports, dashboards, and executive summaries for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Support the preparation of Steering Committee presentations, highlighting key risks, achievements, and deviations from plan.
  • Maintain accurate, centralized, and auditable records of planning data, progress curves, and performance trends.

3. Resource Planning

  • Ensure the EPCC Contractor develops resource histograms, manpower plans, and productivity tracking systems.
  • Review and validate resource allocations and productivity assumptions in the schedule.
  • Assist in forecasting impacts of schedule changes, delays, and acceleration measures.
  • Ensure all planning deliverables comply with EPCC contract requirements and project procedures.
  • Interface with Document Control to ensure timely availability and traceability of planning-related documents.

4. Change & Risk Management (Planning Focused)

  • Conduct schedule risk assessments and participate in quantitative risk analysis (e.g., Monte Carlo simulations).
  • Identify schedule-related risks and opportunities, recommending mitigation or acceleration strategies.
  • Evaluate schedule impacts of scope changes, variation orders, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
  • Support the assessment and substantiation of claims and extension of time (EOT) requests from a scheduling perspective.
  • Support the development and maintenance of the Project Schedule Risk Register.
  • Support scenario planning and quantitative risk analysis to evaluate potential financial and schedule exposures.

5. Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare schedule input for Project Monthly Reports, Steering Committee presentations, and internal reviews.
  • Maintain centralized and auditable records of schedule data, forecasts, and historical trends.
  • Document and submit lessons learned related to planning and scheduling for continuous improvement.

6. Coordination & Strategic Support

  • Interface with Planning, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction teams to ensure alignment of schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Support the Senior Planning Engineer in planning coordination meetings and strategic schedule decisions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in planning processes, tools, and reporting standards.
