Job Purpose
The Workshop Technician is responsible for the preparation, assembly, inspection, maintenance, testing, and servicing of downhole completion tools to ensure equipment is fully operational and ready for offshore mobilization. The role requires strict adherence to quality standards, maintenance procedures, and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, assemble, service, and maintain downhole completion tools and associated equipment.
- Perform torqueing, pressure testing, and functional testing of downhole tools in accordance with approved procedures.
- Inspect equipment before and after maintenance to ensure operational integrity.
- Maintain accurate workshop records, inspection reports, pressure test certificates, and maintenance documentation.
- Ensure all equipment is properly preserved, packaged, and prepared for mobilization.
- Follow preventive maintenance schedules and quality assurance procedures.
- Identify equipment defects and report maintenance requirements.
- Maintain workshop cleanliness and ensure proper housekeeping practices.
- Comply with company HSE policies, quality standards, and operational procedures.
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
- Proven experience working with downhole completion tools in a workshop environment.
- Strong knowledge of torqueing and pressure testing processes.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, assembly manuals, and engineering procedures.
- Good mechanical troubleshooting and equipment handling skills.
