Responsibilities
Payroll Compliance, Analysis Accounting
- Plan, coordinate and manages payroll and ensure that payroll cycles and deadlines are adhered to; statutory withholdings and/or employer contributions (e.g. pensions, insurance, etc) are filed paid timely; annual income tax filings are completed within the statutory deadlines.
- Keep abreast with payroll regulatory changes state-wise; identify, analyze, and highlight tax, legal, etc. resulting from any such changes and/or from staff transfers, international assignments, severance, terminations, new payroll policies or processes; and work with Corporate Legal, Tax, HR and 3rd party payroll vendors to ensure resolution.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting all payroll-related costs.
- Oversees and supports the implementation of payroll-related initiatives, projects, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Assure through audits, reports, and personal contact, that payroll policies and processes are consistently administered in compliance with company policies and statutory regulations.
- Ensure compliance with SOX, internal and external audit of payroll-related accounts.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and/or resource in areas of payroll regulations and processing.
- Analyze, research, identify alternative solutions and respond to complex matters requiring comprehensive knowledge of payroll policies and procedures.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis and reporting as requested by the Payroll Manager, HR, Legal, Tax, and other corporate management with minimal guidance and supervision.
- Ensure agreed SLAs and timelines are defined for all processes and adhered to.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- High level of confidentiality and integrity are required.
- Capable of working under time constraints and meeting tight deadlines.
- Highly organized and able to multi-task. Extensive knowledge of Excel, including the use of pivot tables.
- Knowledge of stock compensation and payroll regulations and statutory requirements in APAC countries advantageous.
- Experience in India payroll and payroll compliances is mandatory.
- APAC payroll experience is an added advantage
- Workday, Oracle, and ADP Streamline knowledge advantageous.
- Strong communicator with the ability to influence and lead.
- Ability to engage with senior management in areas of payroll and decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related professional qualification.
- More than 1 years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience in supervisory capacity advantageous.
- Experience in payroll/financial analysis in an IT MNC is advantageous.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table.
- Duties require utilizing a computer, communicating over the telephone, and reading printed material.
- Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (early mornings, evenings, and weekends).
