Senior Product Development Engineer

Our client is a mid-sized medical device company seeking a Senior Product Development Engineer. 

The Senior Product Development Engineer will work within a project team to support product development from concept to viable products. They will tackle increasingly complex problems and may lead sub-system level design efforts. Collaborating with Product Innovation Management, they will research clinical applications and derive product requirements from clinical and market research for assigned scope. The role requires comprehensive mechanical and technical problem-solving skills.

  • Own design control documentation
  • Assist with user evaluations and design verification
  • Participate in Voice of Customer research
  • Investigate new technologies for product development
  • Collaborate with internal and external resources

Qualifications:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical, or related technical disciplines
  • Minimum 5 years engineering experience (medical device experience a plus)
  • Proficiency in 2D drafting and 3D modeling, preferably SolidWorks
  • Knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 drafting standards
  • Thorough understanding of mechanical components, materials, fabrication techniques, and factors affecting surgical instrument life
  • Expertise in part tolerancing, stress analysis, and scientific reasoning
