Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly motivated Lead Robotics Engineer to join their dynamic and dedicated team. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical expertise across mechanics, electronics, and software, particularly in regulated industries like medical devices, automotive, or aerospace.
As the Lead Robotics Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, verification, validation, production, and documentation of the companys first medical device, as well as upcoming hardware and software products.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of robotic systems and mechatronic products.
- Oversee the verification, validation, and documentation processes to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Manage the production of the first medical device, including prototyping, testing, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring innovative solutions to market.
Job Requirements
Must-have:
- Masters Degree or Ph.D. in Robotics, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in developing real-world robotic and mechatronic systems.
- CAD: Proficiency in mechanical (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar) and electronics design (Eagle, Altium, or similar).
- Software: Expertise in programming languages like Python, C++, or equivalent.
- Hands-on: Strong skills in prototyping, manufacturing (3D printing, soldering), assembly, and debugging.
- Experience in regulated environments, preferably in the medical field, and familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 13485, 9001).
- Work authorization for the European Union/Schengen region.
- Fluent in English, with strong communication skills (French and German are an advantage).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in developing and testing electromechanical medical devices, with knowledge of applicable regulations and standards (e.g., EU MDR, ISO 60601).
- Expertise in managing commercial hardware products, including DFMA, production, supplier management, and support.
- Familiarity with wearable systems, ergonomics, and human factors engineering.
- Project management experience, with a proven track record or certifications.
- Passion for working directly with end-users and fostering a culture of inclusion.
