Job Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced and results-driven Business Development Manager to oversee and expand their presence in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) markets. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the GCC region, proven experience in business development, and a strategic mindset to identify and leverage opportunities for growth.
The job holder will promote and adhere to the company values of quality and compliance with current legislation.
Essential Job Functions
- Work with the Director of Business Development APAC & MENA to create comprehensive sales strategies aligned with company objectives to drive revenue growth across the GCC.
- Drive distribution partner sales to achieve the revenue and profitability goals by supporting sales growth through new customer acquisition and expanding relationships with existing clients.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of the company's product ranges and customer segments currently within targeted pre-hospital and trauma care sectors.
- Train and support distributors to enhance product knowledge and sales techniques.
- Ensure products comply with local regulations and support the acquisition of necessary approvals and certifications while staying informed about regional requirements.
- Prepare and deliver presentations and proposals that effectively communicate the value proposition of the companys products and services.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to enhance brand awareness and network with potential clients.
- Conduct market research to understand industry trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape in the GCC.
- Maintain competitive information such as products, bid situations, pricing data, or bundling arrangements.
- Monitor and report on key performance metrics, market trends, and business development activities to senior management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and operations, to ensure alignment and support for regional initiatives.
- Manage business development budgets effectively, ensuring optimization of resources for maximum impact.
- 80% travel across Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (UAE)
Qualifications/Skills/Experience
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
- At least 5 years experience in sales management of medical and/or tactical devices through distributors and direct sales, ideally within both the civilian and military market segments across the GCC.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and implement effective business development strategies and plans.
- Deep understanding of sales techniques, strategies, distributor management, and other sales and marketing methodologies.
- Strong skills in negotiating contracts and agreements with clients and partners.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong professional relationships with key stakeholders and clients.
- Proficiency in analyzing market trends, sales data, and competitor activities to make informed decisions.
- Awareness of and respect for cultural differences across the region to build effective relationships and strategies.
- Competence in identifying challenges quickly and devising practical solutions to overcome them.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and alignment with business goals.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions and resilience to overcome setbacks.
- Fully fluent in English, with business-level Arabic language skills considered advantageous.
- Ability and preparedness to travel internationally for extended periods, with a requirement to work unsociable hours on occasion due to time zone differences (UK for Commercial Support and USA for Head Office Reporting).
