MED SURG RN: Job Summary:
A Med-Surg RN is responsible for providing direct patient care to individuals with a variety of medical and surgical conditions. This includes monitoring patient conditions, administering treatments and medications, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure effective and efficient care.

Key Responsibilities:
Patient Assessment:

Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on patients.
Monitor vital signs and physical condition regularly.
Assess patient needs, concerns, and responses to treatments.
Care Planning and Implementation:

Develop individualized care plans based on patient needs and conditions.
Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and interventions.
Provide wound care, manage IV lines, and assist with post-surgical care.
Patient Education:

Educate patients and their families about health conditions, medications, and recovery plans.
Provide guidance on lifestyle modifications for better health outcomes.
Collaboration:

Work closely with doctors, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
Participate in interdisciplinary team rounds and provide input into care plans.
Monitoring and Documentation:

Continuously monitor patients for changes in condition and report any significant changes to the medical team.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care in the medical record.
Safety and Infection Control:

Follow safety protocols and infection control guidelines to prevent the spread of diseases.
Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
Emotional Support:

Provide emotional support to patients and families coping with illness, injury, or recovery.
Offer comfort and ensure patients are comfortable during their hospital stay.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with a valid RN license.
Licensure/Certification: Active and unencumbered RN license in any of the 50 state in United States.
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
Experience: Previous experience in a med-surg or related healthcare setting is often preferred, but not always required.
Skills:
Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
Knowledge of medical and surgical procedures, patient care techniques, and pharmacology.
