Job Responsibilities:

  1. Installation and Maintenance: Install, maintain, and repair refrigeration systems, including commercial refrigeration units, walk-in coolers, freezers, and HVAC systems.
  2. Troubleshooting: Diagnose issues with refrigeration systems, identify root causes of malfunctions, and implement appropriate solutions to ensure optimal performance.
  3. Repair Work: Conduct repairs on faulty components, such as compressors, evaporators, condensers, and thermostatic expansion valves, to restore functionality and efficiency.
  4. System Testing: Perform tests and inspections to verify proper operation of refrigeration equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards.
  5. Preventive Maintenance: Schedule and carry out routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, and lubricating moving parts, to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
  6. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, parts used, and maintenance activities for each job, ensuring thorough documentation for compliance and future reference.
  7. Customer Service: Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs, provide updates on service progress, and offer recommendations for optimizing refrigeration system efficiency and performance.
  8. Compliance: Adhere to industry regulations and safety standards, including EPA guidelines for refrigerant handling and disposal, to ensure safe and environmentally responsible practices.

Qualifications:

  1. Technical Expertise: Proficiency in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining refrigeration systems, with a solid understanding of refrigeration principles, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
  2. Certification: Possession of relevant certifications, such as EPA 608 certification for handling refrigerants, and completion of formal training programs in refrigeration technology or HVAC systems.
  3. Experience: Previous experience working in refrigeration repair or a related field, with demonstrated skills in diagnosing and resolving refrigeration system issues effectively and efficiently.
  4. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and precision in performing maintenance tasks and repairs, ensuring accuracy and reliability in all work completed.
  5. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex problems, identify optimal solutions, and implement corrective actions to resolve issues and restore system functionality promptly.
