A Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in helping organizations make informed sound financial decisions by analyzing financial data and trends. This involves working closely with various departments to gather, analyze, and interpret financial information. This role will also provide administrative and operational support to the CFO, ensuring smooth functioning of the finance department, and contributing to the overall financial management of the organization.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)
    1. Collaborate with different departments to gather budget and forecast information.
    2. Assist in the development of financial plans and budgets.
    3. Analyze financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
  2. Financial Reporting
    1. Prepare and present regular financial reports to management.
    2. Generate ad-hoc financial reports to support decision-making.
    3. Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards.
  3. Data Analysis
    1. Analyze financial data, trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
    2. Identify areas of improvement and provide recommendations.
    3. Conduct variance analysis to explain discrepancies.
  4. Cost Analysis
    1. Analyze costs and expenses to identify areas for cost reduction or efficiency improvement.
    2. Monitor and report on cost trends.
  5. Market Research
    1. Stay informed about economic and industry trends that may impact the organization.
    2. Conduct research to provide insights into market conditions.
  6. Financial Modeling
    1. Develop and maintain financial models to support business decisions.
    2. Evaluate the financial impact of various scenarios and strategies.
  7. Risk Management
    1. Identify and assess financial risks.
    2. Develop strategies to mitigate financial risks.
  8. Decision Support
    1. Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
    2. Work with management to evaluate the financial implications of business initiatives.
  9. Forecasting
    1. Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts.
    2. Monitor actual financial performance against forecasts.
  10. Administrative Support, Coordination, and Communication
    1. Prepare and organize documents, reports, and presentations for the CFO.
    2. Handle correspondence and communications on behalf of the CFO.
    3. Liaise with other departments to gather information and ensure smooth communication flow.
    4. Coordinate with external stakeholders, such as auditors and regulatory authorities, as directed by the CFO.
    5. Serve as a point of contact between the CFO and internal/external parties.
  11. Meeting Preparation
    1. Prepare agendas, materials, and documents for finance-related meetings.
    2. Attend meetings, take minutes, and follow up on action items as needed.
  12. Database Management
    1. Maintain and update financial databases and records.
    2. Organize and file financial documents for easy retrieval.
  13. Special Projects
    1. Assist in special finance projects as assigned by the CFO.
    2. Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the finance department.
  14. Confidentiality and Compliance
    1. Handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality.
    2. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • 1-3 years of finance-related experience.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and reporting standards.
  • Internship or academic projects in finance is a plus.
