Central Maine Medical Center, affiliated with Prime Healthcare, is seeking an OB-GYN Physician to join its dedicated nocturnist program in Lewiston, Maine. This is a night-shift focused role providing inpatient obstetric and gynecologic care in a collaborative hospital environment with strong clinical support.

The incoming physician will be responsible for overnight coverage of labor and delivery and emergency gynecologic care, working closely with midwives, residents, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.

Central Maine Medical Center is part of an integrated healthcare system serving approximately 400,000 patients across central, western, and Midcoast Maine. The women's health program provides comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic services in a community-focused hospital setting with strong clinical infrastructure.

The nocturnist program ensures continuous overnight coverage, supporting both high- and low-risk obstetric patients, with access to anesthesia, pediatrics, and specialty care services.

What You'll Do

  • Provide overnight inpatient OB/GYN coverage
  • Manage labor and delivery, triage, and obstetric emergencies
  • Perform deliveries and urgent surgical procedures as needed (including C-sections)
  • Manage acute gynecologic conditions and consults
  • Collaborate with midwives, anesthesia, pediatrics, and hospital teams
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
  • Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Schedule

Full-Time

  • Night shift schedule (nocturnist role)
  • Shift structure based on program needs

What We're Looking For

  • Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology
  • Completion of accredited OB/GYN residency
  • Eligible for or active Maine medical license
  • DEA registration and BLS/ACLS certification
  • Strong clinical judgment in inpatient and acute OB settings
  • Ability to work independently during overnight coverage
