Part-Time Volunteer Coordinator

Reliance Hospice & Palliative Care is currently looking for a Part-Time Volunteer Coordinator to work at our Cerritos Head Office, with occasional travels for initial competencies, and any emergency needed with the volunteer events around San Fernando Valley and Orange County. 

Hourly salary starts at $23 and is negotiable depending on years of experience.

Job Summary:
The Volunteer Coordinator manages all aspects of the volunteer program, ensuring effective recruitment, training, supervision, and engagement of volunteers. This role supports patients, families, and the community while maintaining compliance with organizational policies, quality standards, and program goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to meet patient and family needs.
• Maintain accurate volunteer records, statistics, and personnel files.
• Coordinate volunteer orientation, education, and ongoing support.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and participate in program evaluation.
• Provide community outreach and promote volunteer services.
• Contribute to budget planning, quality improvement, and policy updates.
• Travel as needed for events and volunteer assistance.

Position Qualifications

• College degree in human services preferred or Bachelor's Degree.
• Minimum of one year experience in a health care setting. Hospice and/or volunteer experience preferred.
• Ability to supervise, coordinate, and evaluate volunteer services.
• Understands hospice philosophy.
• Ability to organize and develop volunteer hospice personnel for both patient and organizational needs.
• Ability to manage a group of individuals providing volunteer time and who will be considered employees.
