About the job ED Consults Telepsychiatry (Fully Remote)
Alliance for Wellness is a well-established psychiatric group serving the Southern California area. We are currently seeking a Psychiatrist to join our diverse and seasoned group of Board Certified Physicians. Our group provides a comprehensive model of care and services utilizing both onsite and telepsychiatry. We are not a placement company, but a medical group looking for providers who are passionate about providing the best patient care.
AFW has established long-term partnerships with leading in-patient and outpatient hospitals and offers a unique opportunity to practice across a wide spectrum of healthcare settings including; Emergency Departments, Psychiatric hospitals, general hospitals, and crisis stabilization units.
SUMMARY
The Telemedicine psychiatrist position will adhere to the main job description for Psychiatrist, but the telemedicine position will focus on these responsibilities. All other duties, education, qualification, and skills for Psychiatrist will apply to the position.
RESPONSIBILITIES (May vary depending on facility/company placement):
Conduct telemedicine consultations to assess the patients medical and psychosocial needs via video or telephone, while at all times maintaining a professional and appropriate setting in preparation for video consults.
Assess patients by conducting psychiatric evaluations, including intake forms, interviews, medical histories, and observations to diagnose patients.
Prescribe and administer medications according to diagnosis. Physicians will not prescribe any controlled substances or narcotics scheduled by the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and shall operate subject to applicable law. Neither Alliance for Wellness nor Physician shall guarantee that any patient will receive a prescription.
Provides medical guidance to onsite nursing staff and physician-to-physician consultation in the ED on patient floors, and in Ambulatory Tele-Psychiatry Clinics.
Refers patients to specialists and relevant patient care components as appropriate.
Maintains working relationships with onsite medical providers engaged with inpatient care.
Documents patient interaction, diagnosis, treatment, etc. within the hospitals EMR.
QUALIFICATIONS
Licensed in California
Excellent bed side manner and communication skills
Experience navigating multiple EMR systems, strong technical skills, and experience with secure video conferencing.
Comfortable with technology and experienced with telehealth
Enjoy working independently
Must be available for both phone and video appointments
Ability to work 5 or more shifts per month.

- Salary Range: $180,000 - $400,000 Annual
