Prime Healthcare, in partnership with Central Maine Healthcare, is seeking a Vascular Surgeon to join its growing surgical program at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine. This is an excellent opportunity to practice in a regional referral center while helping expand vascular services across an integrated healthcare system.

The incoming surgeon will provide comprehensive vascular care, including both open and endovascular procedures, in a collaborative environment alongside cardiology, interventional radiology, nephrology, and critical care teams.

Practice Overview

Central Maine Healthcare is an integrated system serving a large regional population across:

  • Central Maine Medical Center (Lewiston)
  • Bridgton Hospital
  • Rumford Hospital

The vascular program is supported by cardiology, interventional radiology, nephrology, wound care, and critical care services, providing a strong foundation for comprehensive vascular care and program growth.

What You'll Do

  • Provide comprehensive vascular surgical care, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up
  • Perform open and endovascular vascular procedures
  • Manage inpatient consultations and surgical cases
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across specialties
  • Participate in call coverage and service line development
  • Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation
  • Support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Procedures Include

  • Endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR / TEVAR)
  • Peripheral vascular interventions
  • Carotid endarterectomy and carotid stenting
  • Lower extremity bypass procedures
  • Dialysis access creation and maintenance
  • Management of peripheral arterial disease and critical limb ischemia
  • Venous disease and thrombectomy procedures

Schedule

Full-Time

  • Combination of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities

Call

  • Participates in shared call coverage

What We're Looking For

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of accredited Vascular Surgery residency or fellowship
  • Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Vascular Surgery
  • Eligible for Maine medical licensure
  • Active DEA certification
  • Strong clinical skills and collaborative mindset
