Daytime ICU role | Pulmonary & Critical Care team | Procedural training | 1099 independent contractor

St. Francis Medical Center is seeking a Daytime Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join its Pulmonary & Critical Care team in Lynwood, California. This opportunity offers a collaborative ICU environment with strong physician support and the ability to develop procedural skills while managing critically ill patients in a high-acuity hospital setting.

The incoming provider will work closely with pulmonary and critical care physicians while helping manage ICU patients and responding to urgent clinical events within the hospital.

Practice Overview

St. Francis Medical Center serves the Southeast Los Angeles region with a busy ICU environment where advanced practice providers play an important role in patient management and care coordination.

The ACNP will collaborate with intensivists, hospitalists, nurses, and multidisciplinary care teams to deliver high-quality critical care services in a fast-paced clinical environment.

What You'll Do

  • Provide daytime ICU patient management and rounding

  • Respond to rapid response calls and code events

  • Perform procedures such as central lines and intubations

  • Conduct critical care assessments and treatment planning

  • Collaborate with attending physicians and multidisciplinary ICU teams

  • Participate in ongoing clinical training and professional development

Schedule

Full-Time

  • Daytime ICU coverage with flexible shift scheduling

  • Combination of patient management, procedures, and rounding

What We're Looking For

  • Board-Certified ACNP-BC or AGACNP-BC

  • Active California NP license and DEA (or ability to obtain)

  • 1–2 years of inpatient NP experience (ICU or hospitalist preferred)

  • Strong clinical judgment and interest in critical care procedures

  • Team-oriented mindset and commitment to patient-centered care

Compensation

  • 1099 independent contractor

  • $900 – $1,000 per shift (based on experience)

  • Opportunities for additional shifts

  • Malpractice coverage
